The Downriver Walleye Federation’s Rules & Regulations are written to give and assure our members, contestants and guests, fair and sportsmen-like Tournaments.

The number of rules for 2005 have been reduced and simplified.  Please be aware that although there are few rules, they WILL be enforced 100% with no exceptions!!  The final decision on all rules will be the responsibility of the Tournament Chairman.

The biggest rule change this year is that although you may still launch from any location, you must check in at a designated location on the water BEFORE each tournament~~~

1.      Entrants must be a current, paid up member of the Downriver Walleye Federation.  Fees are $15 per Angler & $5 Big  Fish
           (Optional, but all people in boat have to enter Big Fish if one enters).

   a.   A non-member guest will be permitted to fish one (1) tournament with a DWF   member.  Only one (1) non-member per boat will
         be allowed. Non- members will pay an additional $5 fee.

 

 2.     A numbered placard will be issued by a member(s) of the DWF tournament committee at the predetermined location, which
          must be returned at the completion of the tournament.  All contestants are required to attend the weigh-in or forfeit their
          rights to fish the next DWF  tournament.

3.     Tournament entries will close at 5p.m. on the Friday before the scheduled tournament.   

4.      Contestants are required to abide by all U.S. and Canadian Coast Guard, DNR/MNR rules/regulations.

5.    Teams will be allowed to weigh a total of 5 walleyes/sauger/saugeye per team and winners will be determined by total weight. 
       
Prizes will be  awarded as follows – 100% of Big Fish money will go to the big fish  winner.   
      
15% of the entry fees will be retained by DWF for expenses – 1st place will pay  50% of balance – 2nd place – 25% - 3rd place 15% -
       4th place 10%

                                                                     Example - $100 total purse             DWF -  $15
                                                                                                                             1st pl.    $42.50
                                                                                                                             2nd pl.   $21.25
                                                                                                                             3rd pl.   $12.75
                                                                                                                             4th pl.    $8.50 

6.     In the event of a tie in weight, the teams will split the 1st & 2nd place prize equally.  The same rule applies to all ties except the Big
        Fish contest, in which ties will be determined by length. 

7.     Winners must pick up their prize money at a DWF General Meeting within 6 months of the tournament or forfeit winnings to the
         DWF Kid’s Fund.   
NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!

 

9.      Entry forms may be picked up/turned in at DWF meetings, Andy’s Tackle or Wyandotte Boat Ramp.
        NO CALL-IN ENTRIES ACCEPTED.  NO EXCEPTIONS!!  MAIL-IN ENTRIES MUST BE SENT TO JOHN LEWANDOWSKI AT
        14627 ELLEN DR., LIVONIA 48154 WITH CHECK INCLUDED AND RECEIVED BY THE FRIDAY BEFORE THE  
         TOURNAMENT!!  NO ENTRY  FEES WILL BE ACCEPTED AT THE TOURNAMENT

 10.    No alcoholic beverages or illegal substances may be consumed or in the possession of any contestant or guest during any D.W.F.
          tournament, or at any D.W.F. weigh-in site.  Once the weigh-in is over, the tournament is considered over.   After this time the
          D.W.F. is NOT responsible for the actions of any persons that participated in the tournament.

11.    All protests must be filed with the Tournament Director by the close of scales.  A protest fee of $50.00 will be required for a
        protest to be considered.  If the protest is upheld, then the money will be given back to the protester.  If the protest is not upheld, 
        the money will be awarded to the contestant or team being implicated.

12.   Contestant(s) may be disqualified and required to forfeit all tournament entry fees, Big Fish fees, or any winnings for
       that tournament. Contestant(s) may be refused entry to future D.W.F. tournaments.

13.  All questions, judgments or problems during a tournament will be referred to the Tournament Directors.  Tournament
     Directors have sole authority and jurisdiction in determining the application of the Downriver Walleye Federation
     Tournament rules & Regulation and subsequent penalties.


14.  Fishing times may be changed at the discretion of the Tournament Director.
