Nov 19 - Larry RidenourDecided to try one last time. Monday am, weather perfect, no wind. Water dirty from wind Sat. and Sunday. No fish, no hits by Edison, came home and winterized boat.

Nov 14 - Sid Van Houten  Nice batch of perch off Huron river mouth Monday 10am - noon. 5ft of water.  Slip sinker rig seemed to work best.

Nov 13 - Larry Ridenour  Caught 2 Saturday by Edison, lost the biggest, all three on clowns on the bottom line. Also lost U of M hat to the wind. Talked to Sparky, he had 2 also. Time to winterize, I think. Larry

Nov 12 - Stinger  Fished just South of the Cateraman caught five handlining with number seven firetiger & clown between 8:30-10:00am. Saw several other boats in the area how did you do?
Stinger

Nov 11 - John Sparkman Limit by Edison discharge all on Sparky's G.S.C.  Watch for me in my 14 foot brown and tan Crestliner, still problems w/200

Nov 8 - Ed Neubecker   I left work a little early today to take advantage of the nice day, and to take the new Jon boat on it’s maiden voyage. I  was fishing from about 3-5pm in 6’ water on the west side of Celeron Island and kept 26 fish. Most of them were 9-10’’, with a couple of doubles. I probably caught 40-50 perch in the two hours I was out on the water. The water was pretty dirty from the weekend wind, but these fish were HUNGRY!!!! Many of the fish had two minnows in their mouth when I put them in the cooler.  I wish all my fishing trips were like this one.

Oh yeah…one more thing. I launched at Lake Erie Metropark. There was a nice 8pt buck hanging out at the edge of the woods at the entrance. Most everyone at the bait shop was hanging out at their truck with binoculars checking out big daddy!!...Ya just gotta love the fall season!!

Nov 7 - Scott Kovacs  Only got 2, chased Sparky around a bit.  One on #9 Firetiger, and one on Blue silver holo (thanks John!!) both between calf and  the catamaran.

Nov 5 - John Lewandowski  Al Ureche ,Dave Sanborn and John Lewandowski -  Colchester southeast of one mile marker, half mile southeast -  28 feet of water soft marl bottom with minnows.  We caught 300 in 4 hours kept our limit of good eaters.

Nov 5 - John Sparkman Limit Calf Island and all over the river had to work hard for them. Most caught on chartreuse/silver #7

Nov 3 - John Sparkman  Limit Calf Island up to Edison various colors

Nov 1 - John Sparkman  Limit Calf Island up to Edison all on holographic blue #7

Oct. 31 - Mike Sorensen Pulling wire with my buddy from Fowlerville Bob "the hammer " Knight and got 7 3 to 4 pounders on Halographic blue about 500 yards in front of Calf Island all in the middle of the river.

October-23 - John Lewandowski   Dave Sanborn and I pulled bottom bouncers in Brest Bay 17 to 19 feet 1.3 mph boated 7 walleyes 15 to 19 inches. Lost 2 at the boat. Started fishing for perch  caught 8 - should of stayed on the walleye !!!

Oct 20th - Jim England  Got 2 Keeper Walleye One 261/2" 7 Pounder Jigging between Celeron and Horse Island with crawlers.

Oct. 19 - Mike Sorensen  Sorry this is late as I had computer problems.  10--06-06 Went out with John Sparkman pulling wire for a 2 man limit all on Sparkys GSC's.  Again I was taken to school on the fishing end of it but it was another great day of company with the legend.  Thanx again John.

Oct. 16 - John Bielawski  Took Friday off to make up for the Mud day last weekend. Fished the 19 FOW east of Fermi with Bob Burdick. Took a little work to find the walleyes, but we finished with a 2 man limit by 3:00. Purple harnesses on bottom bouncers were the hot ticket. All fish 15-19 inches. Still a lot of good fishing days left.
Johnny-B-Good!

Oct. 13 - Woody  As previously reported the perch fishing at the helicopter pad near Colchester can be incredible. Went the 12th and got a dozen with nothing under 12" until the wind changed and the water flattened. Red beads and silver spinners caught all the fish.

Oct. 11 - John Sparkman  They're Back We got 2 person limit plus 4 From Calf Island up to the warm water discharge some really nice fish 3-4 lbs. Most on # 9 holographic blue.

Oct. 10 - John Bielawski  Went out on Erie Sunday, October 9th, in the wind and MUD and I mean MUD. The water looks like a mocha latte. We did boat one Walleye around 4 lbs., on bottom bouncer and yellow harness. Must have hit him square on the head to get his attention! Only saw one other brave DWF boat out and he looked to be taking a beating also. We're going to need some calm days to clear this water up. Maybe next weekend.
Johnny-B-Good!

Oct 5 -  Ron Smiley & John Raymond  Fished Brest Bay yesterday 10/4. 2 man limit in 4 hrs. 20ft of water. trolled cranks and harnesses, purple crawler harnesses worked the best. Used bottom bouncers, 90 ft. back seemed to be the ticket. Caught no fish under 15 in. Culled through 15 fish, kept the best ones from 18 in. to 26 in."

Oct 5 - Sid Vanhouten  4 Walleye, one a nice 21".  Others 16".  Jigging rubber worm tipped w/half a crawler between Celeron and Metro Park

Oct 4 - Ed Neubecker  Two of us went out perch fishing Oct  4th from noon- sunset. Did not do that well. Only caught ~20 keepers, but most were 9-10’’ with a couple a bit larger. Caught most of the fish in 13’ straight out from Bolles Harbor . Caught 1 at E bouy. A couple at Spuntnik, and NONE at the turnaround.

Oct 2-Don Viger  Went to Colchester this morning with my friend Dennis Rodriguez. Fished till 2pm near the helicopter pad and caught the nicest cooler of perch I've ever seen! It wasn't fast and furious, but we kept over 50 with 20 over 11 inches. If you get the chance to go, try in 30-32 feet on the NW side of the pad. Good Luck!

Oct 1 - Marc Dupuis  Perched again this last Saturday, same as last week, shallows just north of Powder House Island. Me and Bob kept 50. They ran a little bigger than the week before. Still had to weed through them all. Fortunately not so many of those little tiny bass this time. Got there at daylight. Bite was over by 10:30 AM where I was. Left at Noon for an anniversary party I committed to, just as well.
The swans were lined up like a flock of geese over by Grosse Isle. Quite an awesome sight. What a gorgeous week end, I'm sorry I didn't go back on Sunday

Oct 1- Steve Schoonover  drifted around Fermi in 19-21 fow from sun up until 3pm, 5 keepers 17-19in. used crawler harness of  all different colors.

Sept 24 - Marc Dupuis  Perched north of Powderhouse Island in the shallows. Moved around between the weed beds and finally found a school. Kept 45 between the two of us, 6 over 10", the rest just big enough to clean. Lots of fish, just have to weed through them all day.  Got a meal anyway, that's what counts. Minnows, two hooks. They were not shy, beads and spinners on the hooks worked that day.

Sept 19 - John Bielawski
Could not make the tounament Sunday, 9/18, but went out in the evening with Dan Boileau. Fished in 19 FOW out from Fermi and took home a 2 man limit of eyes in 3 hours. Half of these fish were 17-19 inches with only a handfull of throw backs. Yellow blades with yellow bead or gold blade with red bead crawler harnesses behind 3/4 to 1 ounce inlines 20-42 feet back were the ticket.
Johnny-B-Good.

Sept 15 -Unknown went out perch fishing, caught 70 perch in 2 hrs only 15-20 keepers. caught them 1/2 mile south of the T-Dike just in American waters. fished in 9 FOW. The perch are in there just got to find them!

Sept 15 - Jerry Hinton Two man limit in front of the Erie Metro Launch Ramp using jigs and rubber worms tipped with crawler and almost everyone of them came on the stinger hook. Middle part of the day from 11:30am till 4:00pm. Not as many dinks, but no biggies either. 15-17" was catch today. Not many boats out today, most were perching out by the intake.

Sept 11 - John Bielawski  Tried perch fishing without much sucess so we ended the day in search of keeper eyes. Tried 19 FOW out from Fermi with no luck but found 3 keepers out of 4 fish near the dumping grounds at the banana dile in 12-14 FOW pulling crawler harnesses. Those 14" fish are now 15-16", that is good news! Get out there while we still have good weather!.....Johnny-B-Good!

Sept 11 - Jerry Hinton   We fished in the same place listed below and caught 6 keepers including 2 3lbs. Is this the beginning of the fall fishery? Sure hope so. Same program but tried white jigs and they did just as well as chartreuse

Sept 5 - John Sparkman
Have been getting questions about where I have been. There has been nothing to report except small ones for example Friday I got 35 but only 1-15 in and 1-16 I'm doing ok no problems feel just great see you all soon John

Sept. 3 - Greg Warsow & Bob Frank.  Straight out East from Point Moullie in 8 - 14 FOW, wind NW.  Jig drifted (did not matter what color jig or twister, stinger always, tipped with nightcrawler).  32 walleye caught from 7:30 am until 1:30 pm. Only 4 keepers, all the rest between 13 and 14.5 inches. Bob also caught a nice 29 inch Pike and two 13 inch Perch.  Wind shifted from the South and killed the drift.  Perched until 3:30 pm by the 3 hazard bouys and took an additional 15 medium size.  Great day on the Lake until the wind shifted.  Geez, my shoulder is sore from catching so many fish.  Next year is going to be GREAT!

Sept 3 - Jerry Hinton  Mike Pasek and I fished this AM in front of Erie Metro Boat launch and sifted through many small walleye to get 9 keepers. Used Chartreuse jigs with brown worms (and stingers) tipped with crawlers. First time on the water after a knee replacement, boy did I have a great time. It's only gonna get better as the water cools down now.

Sept. 2 - Chuck Jones Went out last night till dark by Fermi & Sterling marking lots of fish (don't know what they were) but only caught 3.  One dink one just legal & one white bass.  Use both spoons & Wiggle Warts
STILL BETTER THAN CUTTING THE LAWN!

Aug. 21 -Pat Waite Went out with Mark Bodrie and found a few perch straight out from Toledo Beach in 20 to 22 FOW, using shiners on perch rigs. We boated 43 perch in about 6 hours. They were all 7" or better with a few bigger ones as well. We only had a couple throw backs so that made it nice. The wind kept building and we finally just quit and called it a day. Mark caught all the big ones!! "Wishin Ain't Fishin" Pat

Aug. 15 -Vince Bellottie   Perch fishing has been good around bouy E out of Bolles. Fishing 18-20 fow. Fished 8/15,8/16,8/17 in the morning for 4hrs. each day. The wife and I keep a total of 118 nice perch from 8"-11", most of the fish were in the 9"-10" range. The bite is very light when it comes to the bigger ones. Light action rod is a must. Could not find good shners so we end up useing fat heads on a perch spreaders. I think we would of done better if we had shiners. Vince

Aug. 7- Twischer  Trolling Ohio border southeast of Fermi. I am not sure if this location has a “name” but would be interested if anyone knows. This is our second weekend out to the same spot and we will be back next weekend as our catch has been increasing in size. 7-31-05 we fished 25-26FOW with dippsy divers and spoons (purple – Kevorkain) putting 8 fish in the boat and releasing a bunch for next spring. 8-7-05 13 keepers in the same location but replaced the spoons with gold blade crawler harnesses. We have been one of the first boats out the past two weekends (6:00am) but have only put 2 fish in the boat before 9:30 – 10:00 – we will be sleeping in next weekend……

Aug. 7 - Chuck Jones  We went out Sat. 8/6 in front of Sterling in 17 to 20 feet of water.  Ran our lines 50' back minis & spoons.  We kept 2 nice ones & caught at least 20 "dinks".  We tried Wiggle Warts but they just didn't produce anything.  Confusion was the best color next would be "Hotrod".  We were fishing for 3 hours & had to run back in.  Once we found a "hot" spot & worked it we were able to catch fish, but it was tough going.    BUT MUCH BETTER THAN CUTTING THE GRASS!

Aug. 3 - John Bielawski  Spent Wednesday evening, 8/3, out in 21 FOW in the Fermi waters. Boated 7 keepers 16-19" just 2 throw backs in 2 1/2 hours. Seemed to like green holographic harnesses but we got 2 on a PAWS gold spoon with green, white and blue dots run behind 1/2 oz. inline weight 65-70 feet back. Not many junk fish or weeds.- Johnny-B-Goode

July 31 - Jeff Hestwood  Fished solo out of Erieau on Sunday. 2.5 hours to get my limit of 5 Steelhead. 180 degrees out of harbor, 7.5 miles, 64 fow, downriggers 45 and 50 feet down with orange spoons, 3.2 to 3.5 mph.  Also got a 6 lb walleye. July 16 - Paul Doute 2-Man limit at Canadian Coast Guard. 20 to 25ft. using the Spark's GSM. TON's of little ones with 6 in the 2.0lbs range. If you venture to this area to fish, please be respectful of the Canadian Coast Guard and their activities. I received a warning from the Coast Guard over the July 4th holiday for getting to close to the vessels and their dock. I didn't think I was that close. Anyway, I sent an email to the Canadian CC requesting further information. So far, I have not heard anything. As soon as I get a response, I will share it with the membership....Wind SE, hot, humid, surface temp 79.8 degrees.

July 16 - Mike Sorensen  Out on L Erie Drifting out from Fermie in 18 feet of water and they would only hit on gold.  Tried everything else and stuck with gold.  1 man limit

July 11 - Jerry Hinton  Tom Taylor and I fished out of Toledo Beach Marina this am and pulled Reef-Runners around E-Buoy. Caught a few but many "dinks" mixed in. Started a slow troll towards Toledo Light and as we crossed the channel we started taking a little bigger fish. Got a two man limit using mainly blue/silver Reef-runners back about 100' off planer boards. Not too many weeds today and about a foot chop, perfect for trolling. Go out and get em!!

July 7 - Mike Sorensen  6 -23-05 sorry so late. Out with John Sparkman on the Canadien side and got a 2 person limit. Lots of small throw backs, A few 5 lb smallies. Another enjoyable day

July 4 - Jeff Hestwood    Fished Erieau Sunday from 8:00 to 2:00 pm. 3 to 4 miles south southwest of the harbor (180 to 220 degrees as they like to say over there) in 53 to 60 fow. Fishing was slow going for us and most others.  We went 3 for 4 on steelhead. All hits on downriggers 25 to 35 feet down. A few nice walleyes were taken by others.

July 4 - John Sparkman  2 person limit by Edison all nice fish 1 about 5 lbs all on Sparky's G.S.C

July 3 - Vic Adams  Jul-2  fished out in front of Fermi bout 25-26ft. slow troll .8 to 1.2 boated 73 fish got a three man limit took 7hrs to do it, but found that ALL!!! of the keepers we got on the outside edge of the pile of boats two fish over 4lbs. both on orange crawler harness, on a #1 Dipsy 40-45ft back with 48in lead

July 3 - Mike Barkley  Phil & Marty Drum, Ted Doute and I fished straight out from Brest Bay (about 7-10 miles) and caught over 100 walleyes (12 Keepers) in  20 -30 FOW.  It didn't seem to make any difference what or where.  We used spoons, Hot N Tots, harnesses,  Dipseys, Jets and downriggers.  Fish were everywhere and hit on anything we threw.  Very few junk fish!!  Great day, non stop action with a bunch of triples and even some 4 at a time!!

June 27 - Chuck Jones  6/25 We fished out from of Luna Pier ("the swamp") 12 to 16 feet of water running Rebel Crawfish 50'back.  We caught 4 keepers, like everyone else TONS OF LITTLE GUYS.   The "swamp" seemed to quit so we move a little north to Toledo Beach area & a little deeper (14-20') & switched to spoons & we caught another 4 keepers & again lots of little guys.   Had to get off too much heat!
BUT AGAIN IT SURE WAS BETTER THAN CUTTING THE LAWN!

June 26 - Jeff Hestwood  Fished 3 to 4 miles East of Stoney Point in 25 to 26 fow.  Caught 2-man limit plus 25 to 30 short ones.  Crawler harnesses up high, 1 oz in-line weights, 20 feet behind in-line boards, slow 0.7 to 0.9 mph, electric motor.

June26 - Jerry Hinton  Tom Taylor and I tried trolling in front of Fermi but too many weeds. Pulled out the "meat" and bottom-bouncers and drifted towards Stoney Point in about 25' of water. Caught 6 walleye, two nice perch and a smallmouth along with Sheeps, silvers and a 3lb smallmouth. Hammered copper blade worked best. It caught all of the larger fish. Keep trying guys, they're there.

June 25 - Pat Waite  June 22nd Leon (first Mate) and I (the captain)took Jay Cappell (the Admiral) out to E Bouy and trolled cranks (Wiggle Warts) mostly dark gray w/red eyes all the way to West Sister and boated 2 keepers and a few small ones as well as are usual share of boulder bumpers (sheepshead) to windy to run bottom bouncers. Then we moved back in to Bolles Harbor where we trolled towards the Toledo Light and picked up 1 more keeper and a bunch of little ones. then went towards Luna Pier where we boated a nice 4 1/2 lb'er and more of those little ones as well as a few huge Boulder bumpers. The wind died down late in the day and we covered allot of water and went thru allot of throw backs and junk fish to get 4 keepers.
"Wishin Aint Fishin!!" Pat

June 23 - Jim England  6pm-8:30pm. Straight out from Fermi 26ft deep. 7 Eyes 2 keepers. Drifting chartruse crawler harness.

June 21 - Chuck Jones Called Bottom Lines & they suggested we go out in front of Fermi in 20-22' Bottom Bounchers.  So we tried & couldn't buy a keeper.  We caught 20 all undersize.  We even tried spoons marked a ton but couldn't buy a keeper.
STILL BETTER THAN CUTTING THE LAWN!

June 20 - John Bielawski  Sorry for the late report. Took Don Viger and his neighor Jim out in Erie this Saturday. Started at the W1 bell bouy, 22-24 FOW, south of the Detroit Light and pulled cranks and spoons almost to Stoney Point, nothing going, changed to harnesses same result. Made our way over to the banana dike between the grey shack and Detroit Light, 16 FOW. Stayed with meat and caught 25-30 throw backs, starting to reach the 13-14 inch range, Jim got all 3 keepers, 2-3 pounders, hot color was pink run on 2 oz bottom bouncers just touching the bottom. From the radio chatter, no one was having much luck. Fish fly hatch is in full bloom. Water surface temperature was down to 66 degrees...Johnny-B-Good.

June 18 - Chuck Jones  We went out to the "turn-a-round" again.  Same story lots of small ones & sheeps.  We ran spoons 70' back "bloody nose" again best color.  Brought home only 4 but breakdown stop us real short.  but there is always next weekend.

June 17 - John Sparkman Catch up, computer has been down!  6-13 Below Canadian Coast Guard 9 No limit but some 2-4 pounders are showing up.  6-14-05 Same as day before 9 fished from #56 buoy up to #60 spoons G.S.C. and perch color.

June 13 - Chuck Jones 6/12 Went out afternoon at the "turn around". We ran spoons & dipseys on 1 side (70 feet back0 and Warts on the other(60 feet back). LOTS OF SMALL ONES & other fish (sheeper & silver bass) We finished after 6 hours with 7 fish. 1 steelhead. We brought home 5lbs of cleaned fish. So that helped ease the pain! Bloody nose was the best spoon than Confusion. The warts only caught 1 Walleye and a few others. Stayed with warts too long but thought they would produce more Walleyes.

June 13 - Mike Sorensen  6-7-05.  Out in that south wind after dark and got 2 nice eyes in the trenton channel pulling raps. all after dark.  Then went out Friday at 11 p.m. and got a 2 person limit in the same place pulling raps and also kept 50 Silver bass for a friend at work.  Weeds are getting too bad to fish at night though.

June 10 - Mark  Ffished the river this morning by Zug Island, caught about 20 small ones and one keeper.  Ran out of nightcrawlers around 9:30 and brown rubber worms so we called it quits.

June 10 - Sid Vanhouten  Banana Dike, 5:30pm - 8:00 pm.  VERY ROUGH!  4 nice eyes 17-23 in.,  one dink, handful of silver bass.  Blue cranks

June 10 - Sid Vanhouten June 7 @ Banana Dike  One hour trolling shad raps on long lines.  One 21" eye, one 13" perch, two silver bass, one sheephead.  12-13' FOW.  Blue/Chrome, Chartruse.

June 10 - brdhntr  Folks, sorry, there is a typo in my 6/8 report.  Should read we picked up our big fish in 23-24 FOW.  Will be out there 6/10 eve and 6/11 morning.  brdhntr on 68

June 10 - Todd Simco- 10:00am-3:00pm June 8th fished out of sterling at the line boated 20 lots of lil ones, kept only 5 21" the biggest. Running downriggers at 14'fishing in 25'with spinners on ball and wonder bread spoon as a slider, a few doubles were taken.

June 9 - brdhntr  Fished out of Sterling on June 8 in the am.  Started in shallow (15') and moved out deeper as the sun came up.  Picked up 4 nice fish (20-24") in our last hour, and lost 2 more.  Fish were in 23-34 FOW SE of Stoney Pt.  We were trolling Jet divers and spoons 75-85 back.  Had to leave for a meeting in Flint, otherwise would have boated more fish.  If anyone gets a BIG eye with a clear jet diver and blue/copper/yellow hammered Scorpion, I will pay reward for that spoon.  It hooked 5 of the 6 big fish before we lost it.

June 9 - Pat Waite  June 8th ,  Leon and I went out in Brest Bay and caught nothing but baby walleye, silver bass and sheeps head. Then we moved down to the waters near the Toledo Light and managed to get 5 keeper Walleye's, one of which was a 5 or 6 lb'dr. The number of small Walleye 10" to 14" on the day was 18 and there were plenty of silver bass and Boulder bumpers too. We got off the water when we saw the lightning and got safely back to port and on the road before the big rain started. Most of the walleye were caught on chrome/silver and gray/black wiggle warts set back 100 ft. in 14' to 18' FOW. The fishing in the fall should be showing a lot of just keeper size walleye and by next spring those same fish will be nice eater size. So the future looks good with all those little ones in the lake.
"Whishin Ain't Fishin!!" Pat

Jeff Kelly, Phil Drum and I got 7 keepers and a lot of throwbacks near West Sister in 28-30' Spoons and Hot N Tots.  It was pretty slow and they didn't seem to have a preference on colors.  Judging from radio chatter and people we talked to at ramp, we did better than most.  It was slow for everyone

June 6 - Dune Fan - Has anybody fished in MI besides John lately.  I would like a report for Brest bay or river.  I do not have an Ohio or Canadian license

June 5 - Tim Barton - Fished for  5 hrs. 2 mile west of west sister. pulling spoons and hot&tots. Picked up 5 good eaters, and 5 small ones. Long lineing 5 poles. 28 to 29 ft of water. Lots of charters drifting and casting. Talk on the radio was a few limit catches but most people only had 3,4, or 5 fish. May 31 - Frank Turski  Fished Saturday and Monday northwest of West Sister. Saturday we got 5 walleyes and then got chased off the lake by the wind that came in with a front. Monday was beautiful (the weather man got the wave height prediction right, but was way off concerning the thunderstorms). We got our two man limit in about five hours of fishing. Trolled night crawler harnesses with bottom bouncers. Tried the Gulp nightcrawlers for the first time. They worked at least as well as the live nightcrawlers. We got a few small walleyes and a few white bass, but they weren't a nuisance.

May 30 - Paul & Ted "Chief" Doute  Fished just north of Fighting Island.  We caught 55 hammer handle size walleye handlining with spoons.

May 30 - Dan Boileau
We just couldn't stand it anymore! The itch to do some open water trolling, and the fact that our Michigan season on Lake Erie doesn't open till Wednesday, forced a few of us (Me, Pete, Don V, Johnny B, Ed S, Scott B and Chris K) to head for Port Clinton on Sunday. The weather was perfect, and we had a great time. Thanks to Tom and Greg, who were there fishing on Saturday and Sunday, we didn't have to waste any time lookin for em. We headed to the South end of Kelly's Island and got into some real nice fish. Most came on spinners 40' back with a 1 ounce inline, but some of the nicer fish came on small Stinger spoons behind #30 Jets, 65' back. Between the three boats, we ended up with 34 fish that probably averaged 3 to 5 pounds with at least 5 of them between 7-1/2 and 10-1/2 pounds. Tom and Greg each pulled 12 fish limits with some nice ones mixed in too. (Thanks again to those guys!)
Port Clinton is only about a 90 minute drive from Downriver, and really does offer some great fishing. You can try to target the better ones - like we did - or you can opt to go where the big schools are to take fairly easy limits of eaters.
It's an option!   Cleepshaw

May 13 - Paul Doute  John Lewandowski, Ted and I went out last night during the cold front to spend time with John to instruct him on the finer points of handlining the Detroit River.  Anyway, silver bass, silver bass, silver bass....you could not keep them off the line. Caught  5 walleyes on various colors between 6:30pm and 10:30pm at Edison.  4 were too small - 12 to 14 inches with 1 around 3lbs. Wind was from the ENE 10 to 15mph. All of the walleye were caught on the west side of the river in 10 to 12ft. Did I tell about the silver bass? Many doubles, tons of action, hard to keep the shank in the water...all in all, John Lew had a good time and I think he actually learned something!!

Gary Norton and I started handlining just across from Grassy Island promptly at the crack of noon, our usual start time.  We trolled down river to BASF, made a few upcurrent passes, trolled down to the golf course, made a few zig zags, gave it up and ran down to the Grosse Isle free bridge, then trolled around the pilings a few times with absolutely no results.  We then worked our way down to the head of Calf Island where we got our one fish in about 20 feet of water at about 4:00.  It hit a Spike spoon.  We trolled that area until about 6:00 when we quit.  Exciting, eh?

March 3 - Mike Sorensen
Banana Dike in the a.m..  Got some perch and My buddy Mark Mullins caught 1 walleye. He lost a few at the hole.  Long walk out there.  Why the DNR won't let you ride a quad out there,  yet there is gravel trucks one after another driving up and down the dike all day long.

February 17 - Mike Sorensen  Lake St. Clair Selfridge.  Out about 1/2 mile and caught 12 dink perch.  Not worth going

February 22 -    Simcoe very slow in Feb. be able to move spot to spot to get some fish- Tony

February 19 - Mike Zielinski  Perch activity near the cross dike continues to be slow. Minnows are best bait. North end not yet open. If you go, bring bluegill gear also (spikes or mousies), as the gills are hitting jigged baits about as well as the perch. Kids tried to get down to banana dike by boat from Gib. yesterday but couldn't get near the opening due to heavy ice. Have had good reports of perch catches and a few walleyes there but it's a long walk out. Some gills and small perch at Maynard's Marina in Rockwood. Park on road walk down to ice.

February 17 - Mike Sorensen   Out by the Ford Yacht club in the canal for perch and nothing.  Tried Airport Bay and the same, nothing.  Talked to some others who had been out there since before light and not even a bite.  Will try again this weekend.

February 15 - Mike Zielinski  Perch are being taken through the ice below the cross dike east of Sugar Island. At present, you must tie up your boat in the Livingstone Channel and crawl over the top and down to the ice. This weekend might see the ice north of the dike move out so we can get onto the cross dike itself.

January 31 - Jason Zack  I am considering taking my son to Lake Simcoe for a perch outing and was wondering if any members could recommend any Hut operators or any other suggestions would be welcomed.  The means of travel on the ice is foot.  That is why I am considering a Hut operator.  Any input would be appreciated! Jason Zack    jasonzack@wyandottealarm.com  734-283-8481

January 22 - Mike Sorensen  Was out during the snowstorm Saturday in Hartland by M-59 and US-23.  Tip-ups with chubs and sucker minnows for pike.  7 flags set, 6 fish landed.  One 36"hog followed by a 30" two 28's and two just under the 24" limit.  Was a good day but cold and lots of snow.  Had a hard time keeping the holes clean.

December 7 - John Sparkman  For anyone familiar with the East side the Sturgeon hole by Peche Isle is producing lots of EYES.Those of you who trailer your boat there is a ramp at the foot of Alter rd.

December 5 -Ed Neubecker  Went perch fishing Sunday from 9am-1pm, did bad. Only caught 3 keepers. One was a dandy 12''+. Fished near Lake Erie Metropark marina. Buoys have been removed, and water was REALLY dirty. I think the fish are still there, they just couldn't see the bait!.  I'm putting the boat away, but might go try shore fishing inside the marina

December 4 -Bob Piette  John, as always, it's good to here from you and to have your reports to look at.  Thank you and have a great Christmas. See you next year.

December 1 - John Sparkman  This will be my last report this year!  Have tried for walleye the last 4 times out and only got 1 throwback . Water has been very dirty but still ok for day time. The problem is from too many small shad, their favorite DINNER.  See you come spring or if I get into lots of perch.  Looks real good around the marina for this winter
