Here's an added tip from DWF member Larry Strasser:

I have used the same idea for my crawler harness' and wrap a piece of canvas around it with a rubber band to keep my harness' with trebles on the end from stickin me and other things.

In case you didn’t recognize the item in the picture, it is sold in toy stores, pool stores and even drug stores (CVS, Rite-Aid, etc.) under the Noodle brand name. They come in numerous shapes, from round to square and everything in-between, and sell for $1.99 for a 5 ft "noodle". They are easily converted to very handy live bait rig holders

I cut notches around the noodle every inch or so all the way around so that the each leader has it’s own groove and prevents tangling. Push a common paneling nail into the middle of the groove, with just enough sticking out to hook the loop of the leader on to as you wrap you leader around it. After you wrap the leader around it just stick the hook into the noodle to hold it in place.

Noodles are made of a very lightweight, durable, rigid styrofoam type material that is easily cut and shaped. I’m sure that creative anglers will be able to find many uses for them.

Like many anglers, I enjoy making much of my own equipment and adapting common items into useful fishing aids. If you have some things that you use, please share them with the rest of us.
