This checklist can be printed out and used when winterizing your boat

Winterizing Checklist

 Fuel System

  q       Stabilize fuel & fill gas tank
q       Run engine using storage mixture
q       Change fuel filter
q       Replace oil tank filter (O/B only)
q       Check fuel lines & connectors

Engine/Powerhead

  q       De-carbonize engine
q       Fog engine
q       Inject Fogging Oil directly into cylinders

  q       Check/Replace spark plugs
q       Check & lubricate shift/throttle cables
q       Change engine oil & filter (4 cycle only)
q       Drain cooling water passage (S/D only)

Gearcase

  q       Drain gearcase
q       Refill gearcase
q       Check anodes – replace as needed
q       Remove & inspect propeller – grease splines
q       Remove vertical propeller (S/D only)
            Lubricate universal joints
            Lubricate shaft spines
            Reinstall vertical drive

Other

  q       Inspect & lubricate steering system
q       Check oil level in tilt & trim system
q       Touch-up painted nicks & scratches
q       Store engine in a vertical position
